The Global Dimensions Olympiad Finals took place on Saturday, 18 February. In the presence of the Rotary Club of Makati-Salcedo and the SISFU scholars, five teams faced each other in a three-round battle of wits.
The teams of high school students hail from Chiang Kai Shek College, Merry Treasure School, Saint Therese School, Sen. Renato Cayetano Science High School and South Mansfield College.
In the first round, the very cheerful team from Merry Treasure School was leading in the score board. The lone participant from South Mansfield ranked next to the lead.
In the second round, the teams from Saint Therese School and Merry Treasure School both took the leads, while the participant from South Mansfield still kept a close score.
After the intense final round, Chiang Kai Shek, champions of GDO in 2016, has again emerged as the winning team. The team from Sen. Renato Cayetano Science High School finished in second place. Saint Therese School, Merry Treasure School and South Mansfield College were awarded third, fourth and fifth places respectively.
After the main competition, the Rotary Club hosted fun games with prizes for the audience.
This was followed by a short celebration with cocktails at Bistro Lima.
GDO has endowed SISFU with some of our brightest students who have made their marks at our partner schools in Australia and the United Kingdom. Being the pioneer provider of transnational education in the country, we believe that such quality learning should be attainable for those who have the drive to become global champions. This competition aims to open opportunities for those who deserve to achieve that goal.
