On October 17, 2025, Southville International School Affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU) conducted an Earthquake Preparedness Plan Orientation led by Mr. Noel Ison, a safety and emergency response expert. The session, held via Zoom, was attended by faculty, staff, students, and parents, all eager to learn how to stay safe and respond effectively during an earthquake.
During the orientation, Mr. Ison shared valuable insights on how to protect oneself from falling debris, where to take cover during tremors, and even how to use a whistle properly for rescue missions—including specific whistle sound patterns to alert rescuers. The session also covered practical tips on creating family emergency plans and preparing go-bags for unexpected situations.
Participants actively engaged in the discussion, raising questions about real-life scenarios and best practices during emergencies. Mr. Ison’s clear and comprehensive answers provided reassurance and empowered everyone to take safety preparedness seriously.
At SISFU, the safety and welfare of our students remain our top priority. Through continuous safety orientations, emergency drills, and awareness programs, the school ensures that its community is always prepared and informed. By promoting proactive learning even in emergency readiness, SISFU strengthens its commitment to creating a secure, caring, and globally aware environment for all.
