The monsoon rains brought floods and cold to the Metro but it did not dampen the atmosphere during SFU’s Evening with Parents last August 11, where parents met with the management, faculty and staff for the first time this academic year.
SFU President, Dr. Melva Diamante, Prof. Natasha Lamb, Dean of the School of Business and Computing, and Prof. Carol Pido, Head of the School of Hospitality Management, gave updates on the latest happenings in the university as parents gathered casually at the lobby of the Lima Campus.
The parents were also oriented about the latest academic program offerings by SFU, including the Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management delivered in partnership with the International College of Hospitality Management based in Adelaide, Australia, and the Master of Business Administration from SFU’s latest international affiliate school, the University of Chester based in the United Kingdom.
Parents and faculty discussed the students’ performance in the past 6 weeks while enjoying cocktails served by students of the School of Hospitality Management. The rest of the night was characterized by a warm and dynamic interaction between parents and faculty.
The main objective of the session was to meet the prospects, talk to them, discuss program details and also understand their needs. There were lots of question asked and suggestions offered. SFU management team is always ready to hear the feedback, and, if necessary, adapt the program to better serve its consumers. For example, the schedule of classes was changed, based on students requests, enabling students combine work and professional development through MBA.
SFU looks forward to start new MBA class in the beginning of October 2012. The first 3 modules will include Marketing, Finance and HR courses. If you were unable to join MBA October in-take, the next one will be in January 2013. Please send you inquiries to mba@sfu.edu.ph and we will be happy to meet you and answer all your questions.
