Intern International: Angel Jaramillo’s Internship Journey at Legoland US

It’s often a daunting experience not knowing what to do after leaving school halls. Students are left unsure of what the world has in store, leaving them uncertain of what comes next.

This is where internships come into the picture to alleviate the uncertainty and answer some questions about what’s to come. One of our Hospitality graduates, Angel Jaramillo, has her story to share about her experience while participating in the J1 USA Internship Program where she joined Legoland California as a hotel host.

“I took a leap of faith and decided to take on a new adventure. Participating in the internship not only made me gain great work experience but it trained me to be multicultural as well, something that I’ve been well taught in SISFU.”

Being immersed in the workplace, Angel was able to practice her learnings while helping guests gain the best experiences, bringing smiles to their faces. In the process, Angel has even been recognized as employee of the month and top-seller for walk-in reservations.

But what sets this experience apart from most internships is how Angel was able to gain international work experience too early in her career. “I met and socialized with people from different walks of life. I have successfully reached my goal of gaining international work experience.”

With international experience already under her belt, Angel is now preparing to add another notch to her world-trotting career while setting her eyes on working in Australia.
