Service from the Heart: A SISFU SOHM Alumni Story

At the recently held Fairmont Appreciation Day last February 2024, members of Raffles and Fairmont Management along with members of SISFU met to discuss opportunities to further strengthen its partnership.

As one of the foremost hotels in the Makati business district and the leading school in transnational hospitality education in the Philippines, Fairmont Makati and SISFU have been working together to create a complete and immersive learning experience for its students – from classroom to the workplace – with internships and possible opportunities for employment straight from graduation.

Such is the story of SISFU alumnus Christopher Guzman, Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management, Batch 2023. While taking his internship at Fairmont Hotels, he not only gained much experience but also made quite an impression with hotel management. While working under the food and beverage department, he was able to set the record for selling the highest number of All Accor membership cards amongst all hotel staff. He still holds this record to date, and is recognized by the top leaders of the hotel. Due to his hardwork and dedication, Fairmont Hotels offered him a career opportunity upon graduation. Chino, now a certified “Heartist” is a proud employee of Fairmont Hotels.

We are proud of Chino and his accomplishments so early in his hotelier journey! We are confident that he will make an even greater impact and make meaningful contributions to Fairmont Hotels in the coming years. It is with heartwarming stories like this that SISFU further commits to grow its partnership with Fairmont in the years to come.
