SGEN Formally Launches its Official Research Journal

Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) officially introduced to the academic community its official research journal, the SGEN Research Review. In a formal launch held last January 13, 2012 at SFU, SGEN officials unveiled a replica of the Review’s maiden issue following the presentation of the pioneering research articles by their respective authors. SFU President, Dr. Melva Diamante welcomed the guests and noted that the journal is the culmination of the institution’s passion for research and its goal to establish a platform for sharing ideas and research results. Dinner was subsequently served at the Bistro Lima.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Catherine Castañeda, Director of the Commission on Higher Education-NCR, who praised Southville for successfully publishing a research journal and challenged the institution’s leaders to level-up their publication by making the Review a CHED-accredited research journal. Also present during the occasion were Dr. Leila Calderon-Kabigting, Professor of Finance at the University of Guam and a member of the Editorial Board of the SGEN Research Review and Professor Juan Miguel Luz, Associate Dean of the Center for Development Management of Asian Institute of Management. Led by Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Tan, SGEN’s Chief Executive Mentor, the SGEN academic community was one in revealing the momentous occasion.

The SGEN Research Review is a multi- and interdisciplinary journal devoted to studies on business and related fields. With the establishment of the Review, SGEN institutionalizes research as an important function of the education network and steps up knowledge creation and production. Copies of the publication are available at the Stuff Shop of Southville International School and Colleges, Luxembourg St. corner Tropical Ave., BF International, Las Piñas City. Tel.
