13 October, Las Piñas City – 10 SISFU student leaders attended the Asian Federation of Student Leaders (AFSL) Leadership Summit 2017.
Revolving around the event’s theme, “Leading successfully through the storm: Lesson is Crisis Leadership”, our student leaders were provided with valuable knowledge on leading an organization in times of difficulties/crisis.
Among the participants from 6 colleges and universities that attended, our student leaders shined during the exercises. They excelled in showcasing their leadership skills when given a crises scenario to resolve. Furthermore, our students won awards for their outstanding performances and participation:
Best Speaker Award (Female Category) – Fatima Muhsen, The Bridge (the official SISFU publication), Editor-in-Chief
Best Speaker Award (Male Category) – Myron Ordillano, Student Council, President
Best Group in Crisis Management – Fatima Muhsen, Joseph Cinco, Tyrine Cantero
At SISFU, we encourage students to participate and engage in extracurricular activities. Even more so, we give them the freedom and opportunities to lead/spearhead their own. This is to expose them to a diverse range of interests to explore. Apart from that, we believe that this also serves as a training ground for them to practice personal management and team-building.
