SISFU proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Culinary Institute of Southville (CIS) student, Gia Garcia, who recently participated in the IDIM DIY Philippines Bakers Parade Baking Competition held at SM North EDSA.
Among 22 participating schools, Gia stood out for her creativity and skill, bringing home 2nd Place (Bronze Award) and a Special Award for the Most IG-Worthy Cake.
For Gia, this victory marks more than just winning medals—it’s a milestone that reflects her growth as a young culinary artist. Competing against talented bakers from across the country, she poured her heart into her creation, combining artistry, precision, and flavor in every layer of her cake.
Guided by her mentors Chef Rina and Chef Pau, and supported by Ms. Arlyn, Programme Head of the Culinary Arts Department, Gia’s journey in this competition highlights the spirit of excellence and perseverance that SISFU instills in its students.
“This experience taught me to trust my skills and enjoy the process,” Gia shared. “It was challenging but rewarding—definitely a moment I’ll always treasure.”
